St Paul School Board Race

Tom Swift, who used to be an active list member on the St Paul Issues List, and also who ran anti-gay literature against Al Oertwig (he reprinted a Lavender ad Oertwig had taken out, and put some comments about the "homosexual agenda" or whatever), didn't make it through the primary on this one.

This shows that campaigns that appeal to the worst in people backfire in St Paul. It certainly is a cautionary tale to the St Paul Republicans. The Minneapolis Republicans and the State Republican Party had this lesson with the notorious Renee LaVoi.

ANNE CARROLL 11312
KAZOUA KONG-THAO 10816
AL OERTWIG 10103
TOM CONLON 6811
BRIAN JOYCE 5557
GEORGIA DIETZ 4361
RICHARD BRODERICK 2575
WARREN ANDERSON 2457

THOMAS SWIFT 1918
MICHAEL RADEMAKER 1598
CRAIG A. STONE 1211
JOHN I. SCHILLING 1177

Georgia Dietz could benefit from being the only woman among those who are trailing. I've heard from a St Paul School Board member that both Dietz and Swift were sniping at Tom Conlon for not being enough to the right.
