What Did the Attorney General Know and When Did He Know It?

Last fall we were fed this story about Entenza’s research on Hatch. Understanding the hardball political style of both parties, we didn’t think much of it. But we must tell you the information we gleaned from a closely placed aide to Hatch reminds us of good old fashioned politics. Here it is:

Once Hatch found out about the research, he invited Entenza to lunch to discuss things. At this lunch, where Warren Spannaus was also present, Hatch grilled Entenza about why the research had been commissioned, and told him that if he continued in this vein he would make Entenza's bid very difficult.
