Pastor Mac at Living Word Christian Center Will Address the Flock Fleecing Allegations at Services This Weekend

The scandalous allegations are about fleecing the flock rather than having purchasing sex from a rent boy. It will be interesting to see if the media shows up to the services tomorrow and gets comments from parisioners. From the Living Word site:

Pastor Mac will address many of the recent articles and allegations circulated in the media during the services this weekend. Also, the following is our public statement on these matters:

Living Word Christian Center has a long history of making every effort to conduct the financial affairs of the church with integrity and candor. It is standard procedure for all appropriate contracts and financial transactions to be reviewed by our law firm (Faegre and Benson), audited by an independent accounting firm (Ernestvedt and Christensen), and approved by our board.

Every effort is made, and will continue to be made, to completely comply with and diligently follow all applicable legal standards established by the IRS and the State of Minnesota for the conduct of non-profit organizations.

Living Word and those outside professionals involved in the conduct of our financial affairs remain confident any fair review of our dealings will reveal the validity of our effort to consistently be an accountable and honest ministry before God, our congregation, and our community.

Earlier this week, Minnesota Monitor did some excellent spade work on shenanagans with the Living Word finances. Dump Bachmann Gumshoe followed up with a report on the planes that were registered to Mac Hammond. How can it be legitimate use of the flock's money to pay for a stunt plane.

This story is on the front page of the Strib Sunday edition. From Minnesota Monitor:

According to the documents, which involved a loan application in 2003 and contained over 100 pages of pictures and detailed descriptions of the church's land amounts, financial transactions and administrative history, Hammond owns two airplanes, one bought from Living Word for $1.06 million on credit supplied by Living Word. He leases the planes back to the church at a total annual rate of more than $893,000. The church asserts that "the aircraft are important to the efficient management of its ministry at the present time..." Living Word also rents a hangar to store the planes, and it pays for the expenses of the planes as well.

Why do people blindly believe everything they read? I am one of those parishiners who showed up to the church service. Yes, I did have questions, but having seen Pastor Hammond's integrity over the years, assumed the best of him, and not the worst. I was glad I did. He addressed every issue and really brought to light many areas that were misunderstood or just plain false. How would you like it if accusations were thrown your way very publically, and everyone just believed them, hook, line and sinker? You owe it to yourself to find out the truth. Things aren't always as they seem...

He did not tell you his salary. He didn't address the total compensation of all his family members who are on the payroll.

I just listened to his service and his rebuttal. I pity the lost souls who continue to tithe and pour their hard earned money into a church in which the minister can be so unashamedly blatant on his penchant for nice clothes, nice cars, nice homes and even airplanes. If this is not deception, I do not know what deception is. Thank you Mac Hammond for broadcasting this service. It is a perfect teaching tool for my children. For those who still attend the church, open your bible and learn about Jesus Christ. He stood for none of these things.

RS - I watched part of the Sunday morning broadcast, and it turned my stomach.

Believe whatever you want (and support it financially, if you think its a good idea.)

But know that Mac Hammond presents a sick, self-indulgent, perverted version of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Go read the Sermon on the Mount in the 6th Chapter of Luke, and think about whether Jesus' commands match up with Mac's message.

This guy doesn't even have a seminary degree. He went to Dale Carnegie training. No denomination ordained him. He isn't academically qualified to teach anybody about the Bible.

Pastors Mac and Lynne Hammond have been my teachers for many years. I pray for them often, for ongoing revelation to aid their teaching, and yes, for financial and material blessings. My prayers are answered! Glory to God!

Glory be to God? Can you be that naieve? Trust me, everytime you pay your tithe, you are DIRECTLY financing your pastor's lifestyle. Read the new testament and understand what Jesus Christ stood for. If no one has ever told you that Mac Hammond is a charlatan of a pastor, on this day you were warned.

I attended living word for many years. And I can truly say that most of what mac hammond teaches is very poor doctrine.I thank God for opening my eyes to alot of the false teachings there.Especially the new teaching about the jews.Saying that all jews will be saved and we are not to evangelize them.He is basically condeming them to hell.I can gladly say I don`t attend there anymore and my prayers are going out to the congregation of that church that there eyes will be opened to see the deception in the church.

I'm really disgusted with these Mega Churches such as Living Word. My wife and I attended there for a few years. It wasn't so much what Mac preached, it was the other ministries; Copeland, Charles Capps, Kenneth Haign, Binny Hinn, Clefo Dollar and many more that turned my stomach. They are part of the Living Word false doctrine click. Their sermons revolve around money and scripture taken out of context keenly twisted to fool the poor ignorant souls that don't know any better. These airplanes that they have cost over $15,000 to fly to their destinations; fuel, landing rights, maintenance, leasing hangers, etc. What happen to spending $300.00 to use a commercial jet? People are being taken in for their luxurious living expenses. No where in the Bible did Jesus say that being a Christina should make you rich. Jeremiah Jones
