Janet Boynes is Michele Bachmann's "ex-gay" sidekick. Boynes claims that "80% to 85% of women "struggling with homosexuality" were raped or molested. There's a bizarre autobiography of Boynes on the Minnnesota Family Research website.
On her website, Janet Boynes has the following speaking engagement:
July 18, 2007
Youth Meeting (Closed Meeting)
Speak The Word Church International
Speak The Word Church's Pastor Randy Morrison apparently preaches the Gospel of Prosperity like that other favorite preacher of Michele Bachmann and Janet Boynes, Pastor Mac Hammond. Here's Morrison preaching prosperity in Africa:
Poverty is unnecessary!
God doesn’t want you to be poor and ashamed. He wants you driving your own new car and living in your own house.
Besides preaching a very un-Christian message about poverty, The Pastor, according to Morrison's Wikipedia page, divorced his wife in 2005. Here's Jesus' teaching on divorce:
"And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery."
There is plenty in the New and Old Testament that says divorce is a big no-no. It's bad enough that many of the right-wing, anti-gay, "pro-family" politicians are divorced... but, it's really bizarre for the Pastor of a church to be divorced.
How did Minnesota become fertile soil for growing all this anti-gay, pro-divorce, faith-based weirdness?
