After falling out of grace with conservative Republicans over immigration this summer, Senator John McCain has fallen in the polls, has seen decreased donations and has very little cash on hand. His campaign is barely even that anymore. In an effort to shore up some conservative support Gay.com reports that:
Gay troops pose "an intolerable risk" to national security, U.S. senator and Republican presidential hopeful John McCain wrote last month to a gay rights group seeking to move his position on "don't ask, don't tell."
McCain concluded that "I remain opposed to the open expression of homosexuality in the U.S. military."
Is he really that desperate?
