Hillary Rodham Clinton on Saturday morning ripped MSNBC over reporter David Shuster’s suggestion that Chelsea Clinton was “sort of being pimped out” by the campaign.
“I found the remarks incredibly offensive,” Clinton told reporters in this snowy town outside Bangor. Earlier, she sent a letter to NBC brass that called for swift action against Shuster, who was suspended Friday by MSNBC.
What is this though?
Now, within days of the South Carolina primary and less than two weeks to Feb. 5, she is putting herself in the spotlight as rarely ever before. The Clintons' only child was the focus of a profile on NBC's "Today" show this morning. That was followed by a fundraising e-mail sent out under her name. In the email, Chelsea offers a Clinton donor the chance to sit with her while they watch her mother debate.
"I've been campaigning with her across the country -- and I'm definitely planning on being at the next debate. Would you like to join me? The campaign is picking an online supporter to watch the January 31 debate in Los Angeles with me and to meet my mom. I know she'll be thrilled to meet you -- she is so grateful for how much every supporter has done for her campaign," the e-mail says.
The e-mail appears to be part of a plan to soften Hillary Clinton's image, an approach which has become more evident since her early loss in the Iowa Caucus. Things that once appeared to be off limits are now in bounds.

David Schuester did nothing wrong except to question the way the Clintons were using Chelsea. I am so sick and tired of the Clinton campaign bullying the media and having their overwrought supporters find something wrong with everything that is not 100 percent glowing in regards to the Clintons. If they get this bent out of shape now, if she becomes the nominee, what is she going to do when the right goes after them with a whole lot worse. I see women screaming sexism in everything little innocent remark and look and acting like a bunch of spoiled and demanding children. As a feminist democrat, I find these tactics and over sensitive and demanding foot stomping to be nauseating. I certainly do not expect or want special treatment because I am a woman and I resent these women demanding such because of Hillary. Chelsea is a 27 year old woman. She is not a little girl and when her mothers campaign pimps her out like last week when they had that win a date with Chelsea what else can it be taken as. I support David Schuster and i resent this attempt to bully and repress the press from being able to be able to critique and say what people are thinking in real life. What the Clintons are trying to do is force the press to do nothing but say glowing things about them and never anything else and it will repress any real coverage because the media will be too afraid to give honest coverage. Boo to MSNBC for caving in and to the press in general for letting the Clintons bully and push them around.
